Wimberly Complex aka Centennial Park | Oakland Park, FL
Recreation
Project Details:
Wimberly Field Athletic Complex is a 12.5-acre park that opened in 2022, and features a woodland-themed splash pad and covered playground, basketball courts, renovated pickleball courts, and a concession stand.
Under a Continuing Contract with the City of Oakland Park, CWI provided professional land surveying services for the construction of the new park, located just south of Wimberly Field in the city’s industrial warehouse district. Our scope included providing surveying services for the adjacent Collins Community Center.
In Phase 1, CWI conducted a Specific Purpose Survey, ALTA Survey, 2024 Flood Zone update, and revision of the vertical datum to NAVD 1988.
For Phase 2, CWI conduced Boundary and Topographic Surveys, including the collection of rim and invert elevations of drainage structures, cleanouts, yard drains, and pipe details where accessible. Finished floor elevations are recorded at each doorway, and a title review was performed to identify any relevant survey concerns.
The surveys also mapped utility easements, locate and measurement of existing trees, and show of alignments of subsurface utilities such as sewer, water, gas, electric, and telecom, wherever accessible. Utility depth, size, and material data are included, along with drainage structure connections.
In addition, CWI incorporated as-built conditions from the Phase I Park Project including previously undocumented exfiltration trenches, and performed 3D laser scanning of the site.
