The Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience (MPFI), is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit research organization, which is part of the world-renowned Max Planck Society. The Max Planck Society is Germany’s most successful research organization with over 80 institutes worldwide. As its first U.S. institution, MPFI brings together exceptional neuroscientists from around the world to answer fundamental questions about brain development and function and to develop new technologies that make groundbreaking scientific discoveries possible. Caulfield & Wheeler was contracted to provide an array of surveying services including boundary surveys, topographic surveys, final surveys, drainage as-builts, water & sewer as-builts, retension as-builts, stakeouts, setting benchmarks, calculate parking, calculate water, sewer & drainage, as well as calculate exfiltration trench and swales. CWI also provided FEMA elevation certificates with the final survey.
The Florida Atlantic University Max Planck Academy on the John D. MacArthur Campus in Jupiter stand to redefine approaches to STEM (Science, Technology Engineering and Math) education, not just in South Florida, but nationwide. The collaborative relationship between FAU and the Max Planck Institute for Neuroscience is made possible through the proximitey of the Institute to the University.
The Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience building is LEED-NC Gold Certified, housing over 100,000 square feet of space on 6 acres of Florida Atlantic University’s John D. MacArthur Campus in Jupiter, Florida, neighbored by FAU’s Wilkes Honors College and Scripps Florida. Construction of the MPFI research facility began in June of 2010, with their grand opening in December of 2012.
