Project Details:

Akel Homes is developing Sundance, a 2,500-acre luxury community in Port St. Lucie, Florida, in an area formerly known as Wilson Grove. The expansive project features approximately 8,000 new homes and over one million square feet of commercial space. A key component of the development is the 2-mile extension of Becker Road, which will provide seamless access to I-95 at both Becker Road and the Gatlin Boulevard interchanges.

CWI has worked at the site on projects since 2004 for various clients. Our services include Engineering Design for the residential development and Becker Road extension. CWI has developed the master stormwater management design and calculations, detailed construction drawings for water distribution, sanitary sewer, storm drainage systems, and finished roadway grades.

In addition to the design plans for Becker Road from N/S-B to Range Line Road, we have been providing ongoing Construction Inspection Services to ensure conformance with the approved plans.

CWI’s Survey Department has provided Surveying Services on this property for more than 20 years under various owners. Surveys have included control, topographic, boundary, and wetland surveys, as well as preparation of sketches and legal descriptions for right-of-way dedications, revisions, and vacations.

Master site planning was provided by CWI’s Landscape Architecture Department.

Our UAS Operations captured both ground-level and aerial drone imagery to provide comprehensive visual documentation of the property.

CWI’s scope has also included preparing drainage, hydraulic, and flood routing calculations for SFWMD and City of Port St. Lucie; submitting plans for approval to multiple agencies; and managing permitting for utility and engineering construction.
