The Broward College Health Sciences Simulation Center (HSSC) is a 66,000 square foot building located on the west side of the A. Hugh Adams Central Campus in Building 1008, at 3501 SW Davie Road, Davie, Florida 33314. The Health Sciences Simulation Center is an accurate replica of a real world Acute Care Hospital, equipped with an ambulance bay, educating students on the urgency of emergency transport, medical care and intake. The ultra modern building will feature a working ambulance where students will off load to the ER Triage Room for treatment or admission to one of the 9 individual hospital or clinic type rooms. Caulfield & Wheeler was contracted to provide Specific Purpose Surveys, as well as As-Builts for waterline, sanitary, storm and chiller pipes. CWI also provided benchmarks, stake outs, verification of building ties to three existing buildings, and 13 light pole calculations.
The Health Sciences Simulation Center at Broward College was designed to emulate a true clinical environment for all types of nursing and allied health programs, including the healthcare community at large. Students and instructors can engage in clinical simulation experiences that represent AD Nursing and RN-BSN, Respiratory Therapy, EMS, EMT and Paramedic, Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting, Medical Assisting, Pharmacy Tech, Radiology, Nuclear Medicine and Radiation Therapy programs.
Broward College enrolls on average 63,000 students annually, providing residents with certificate programs, two-year university-transfer degrees, two-year career degrees and baccalaureate degrees in various programs.
