Canyon District Park | Boynton Beach, FL
Recreation
Project Details:
Canyon District Park is a 53-acre recreational space located near the intersection of Boynton Beach Boulevard and Acme Dairy Road in Boynton Beach.
The park has undergone a two-phase expansion, for which CWI has been contracted by multiple entities to deliver a range of professional surveying services for both Phase I and Phase II.
Phase I of the development included the construction of new soccer fields, a fitness trail, a 2,600-square-foot maintenance building, parking for over 100 vehicles, and two manmade lakes designed to serve as a buffer between the park and the neighboring Canyon Lakes community.
Phase II features the addition of lighted baseball fields, tennis courts, a showcase playground, and covered picnic areas. CWI has performed surveying and mapping across both phases, including boundary, topographic, tree, and formboard surveys, as well as surveys of lake bottoms.
A concession stem wall survey was provided for the restrooms and storage building. The team also completed a tree survey and tagging process, identifying all native species with a diameter of 4 inches or greater; each tree was tagged, labeled with a unique number, and recorded on the boundary survey, which includes a tree chart and State Plane Coordinate data.
UAS (drone) operations were performed utilizing high-definition scanning and aerial LiDAR to capture detailed and accurate site data.
Additionally, construction staking was conducted for the easements, irrigation, stormwater and sanitary sewer systems, fiber optic lines, playground and ballfield equipment, fencing, four buildings, and over 35 light poles.
CWI is also providing CAD support services, with survey updates in response to feedback from the City of Boynton Beach.
